HSV coach Walter: Great pleasure after the shock

What-Wenn scenarios are vehemently blinded Tim Walter since the beginning of the season. At the press conference before the last league game, the HSV trainer was certainly no exception. Whether he believes in a Bremener and the possible direct rise? Is he already studying the possible opponents of relegation? "We are now doing our job," says the 46-year-old.

Walter: "The boys make it great"

Because he suspects that it has it. "Hansa becomes a really heavier chunk, a thick board that we want to drill." The coach could easily fill the phrase pig, but also illustrates that it is not just platitudes. Because he did not completely like the unit on Friday, he let his professionals know this on the pitch and underlines it: he not only talks about the fact that it must be 100 percent on the Baltic Sea, he also demands it and lives. "The boys have to invest everything every day. Thursday," he says, "they trained sensationally." Not on Friday according to his taste, so this is requested immediately: "We always have to go to our limits." And basically he attests to his rights: "The boys make it great."

"We are full of anticipation and full of energy"

Resistance and unconditional will were decisive for the catch -up of the past few weeks, now it should not be devalued by a fourth failure in the promotion struggle. "We are extremely pleased that we can experience such a game. We are full of anticipation and full of energy." And prepared for a highly motivated opponent in a heated atmosphere. "Hansa does it very well and will demand everything," says Walter. His recipe is the right mix of hardness and playful ease: "We have to keep against it." This is exactly what many HSV teams in the lower house failed in the past, but the reigning coach found "that we have actually done this very well throughout the season". At the same time, your own qualities should not be neglected: "It is also important that we stay with ourselves and play our football. We have to be prepared for everything and yet leave our focus."

HSV-Trainer Walter: Was er sich für 2022 wünscht

The fact that in the final with the 21-year-old Suhonen, of all things, a promoted and energy dispenser of the past few weeks fails, but should not be an obstacle to take the Rostock hurdle. Walter finds the injury "bad for the boy" and visited him in the hospital on Friday after the operation has been successful, but emphasizes: "We have many options." In particular, he calls Maximilian Rohr, David Kinsombi, Sonny Kittel and Moritz Heyer. The latter two would mean a large area: If Kittel would move from left wing to the midfield center, the wing would have to be filled; If Heyer moves from the chain of four, Josha Vagnoman could defend right again. "But it would also be possible for us to switch to two strikers," says the coach.

"Now we have to survive"

Walter had chosen the stylistic device, with Mikkel Kaufmann as the second lace for more force and physical presence, against the KSC (3-0) and in Regensburg (4: 2). So he does not see the reason for concern: "We are very flexible and are simply happy that we managed to have such a game at the end of the season." He pushes the fact that this alone is not enough for him: "Now we have to survive."
